I didnt mind doing the work on a 15 year old van but expecting to do it again on one 5 years old. At the moment everything is dry and ok, but I just know that this is where it is most likely to start letting in.
I have thought about the ends, there are D end caps you can buy, or just bung up the ends with sikaflex 512, this is realy the best stuff you can buy, slightly dearer at about £9 a go but worth it. I used it on my last van, along with the mastic on a roll.
The idea of using sika was that it would fully fill the D section and ensure that the D section has a full bond, mastic on a roll would leave hollows between each screw head. I just think that it a crap finish zand detail for any caravan maker to leave.
