Hey does anyone know where the inside fridge light is I can’t see it it’s an Electrolux Siegan gmbh model does anyone know there isn’t any light in the fridge
Forget teh toilet full up light. Its usually run from a battery on manual flush toilets.
When you open the bomb door you can see exactly how full the waste tank is. You dont need a light to tell you it's full.
The light only comes on when it is so full you cant really use it any more until you empty it. I prefer to empty ours before that moment arrives as I don't think I would last until Ive emptied it.
There should be a separate fuse bank with individual fuses for things like
12v lighting
Water pump
Fridge
Awning light
Road lights
Etc etc
I’ve just looked on line and there are a few sites where owners handbooks are available but I don’t know the exact model number of your unit
caravan fridges of your era, dont tend to have lights inside,
a fused spur , is an electrical switch with a fuse on it , like used in your house, a small square white thing same size as a single plug socket,
like the one that says fanmaster on it.
there should be one feeding the fridge, or at least a plug and socket, or maybe just a joint box, connecting the fridge flexy cable, you need to check there for 230volts
Benahavis, I would do what someone else has suggested and get a mobile caravan service engineer to service your van and get him to run through all the points that you are raising, having someone physically showing you is far better than question and answer on a forum if you don’t know what you are looking for or where to find them, that is not a criticism just common sense in your situation
Hi to all anyone! Okay replacing the inlet socket for the submersible as it’s leaking Andy the heater outlet plug that’s leaking too hoping this will help as the pump keeps ticking and flashing in and off. As the pump isn’t working properly I didn’t want to keep the water heater on to see if it heats up in the mains any ideas if this isn’t a fix
With the fridge it’s working on mains but not gas when I hold in knob for 30 seconds and push red button to ignite it flashes makes a short boom then nothing. I’ve cleaned up inside the outside vents with air but this didn’t help any ideas thanks
Please get this caravan serviced properly by a proper, qualified caravan engineer.
You are not qualified to work on gas systems and it sounds like your fridge is in a dangerous condition, at worst you could have an explosion, at best you are likely to poison yourself.
I would not be happy if you were pitched next to me this summer with a caravan that sounds like a death trap. A caravan needs to be serviced regularly to keep it safe and it sounds like your caravan has been neglected. You are experiencing a lot of problems with the internal equipment and you haven't got as far as ensuring its roadworthiness yet.
I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm being rather harsh with my comments but I'm seriously concerned about your safety and your family's safety.

It often/usually takes a few attempts to get the fridge to stay alight. The 'Boom' is a promising sign, at least the ignition is working and the gas is getting through.
Quite normal for first few attempts at ignition to fail, often need to purge air from the gas pipe before gas/air mixture at jet is correct for proper combustion.
If multiple attempts after gas pipe is purged of air still fail, it may be debris partially reducing gas jet or blocking burner. How accessible gas jet/burner is varies with installation, worst case is needing to removing entire fridge, best case is that's it's directly behind bottom exterior vent. Be careful not to enlarge jet hole with any cleaning attempts - no drill bits or needle files! Only use air jet or soft bristle to clear hole. Be warned, the cowlings/burner around the jet are often very rusty and heat embrittled, so easily fail when handled! Probably a job best left to a qualified caravan engineer, who will be able to replace any parts needed.
Rob & Tina I totally agree with you but Benahavis does not seem to be listening to what several have advised him about having a service engineer service the van, it is all very well wanting to learn but if you don’t know what or where to look for the faults I don’t see how he expects to fix them, gas and electricity are not to be messed with, that’s why they bought regulations in within houses etc, I hope he stays safe and it is fixed competently by someone who knows what they are doing
Hi thanks for feedback just trying to get someone out to service. In the meantime can anyone recommend a good tv for a caravan for digital reception with all the bling for attaching to both digital and satellite a smart tv with Freeview etc and WiFi etc thanks
Hi anyone out there help with some advice. The roof is covered in moss and algae dry just now and it’s generally looking very green. Can anyone recommend what product to use on the roof after it’s been cleaned. I’ve read some info on farecla products but there are so many I’m not sure which ones I need I would also like to do the same with the body of the caravan ? Thanks in advance of anyone answering
Hi Can anyone advise. I have an old 1998 sterling Europa. The rooflight in the bathroom does not have an internal frame surround. It just has a vented frame. Should it have one thanks?
