Hi
On our van, we have a fuse box underneath one of the seat units near to the front windows for all of the road lights. It may be worth checking to see if you have a voltage on the yellow cable before & after the fuse box to see if you are actually getting a signal from your car. If this is all ok, I would have thought a bad earth connection on the rear light cluster (clean up with a bit of sandpaper).
