How much do you think it costs for a wheel bearing fitted to a Swift Challenger whilst it is in for a service?
I was a bit suprised.

If its the new conical type, complete with a new nut as they're a use once item + fitting - I reckon £75..... any advances.
Every time our van goes in for a service, the hubs are taken off and brgs greased. £11 / nut....
Go on then. . . . tell us

alko one shot hubs need the entire brake drum and bearings replaced as a single unit.. the cost would be much higher with those.. i think they are the most common type..
normal bearings are not that expensive..

This thread is 8 years old so expect the price to be more than what stated by the OP in 2007.

If its a non sealed bearing on older caravan up to early 90s then google for western towing website, they should stock them and you will probably need new grease seal as well.

Alternatively you can look up your nearest bearing supplier, as long as you have the bearing number they should be able to help you out.------------- 1st stop Brands Hatch
2nd stop Thruxton

IF they were BPW one shot nuts they would cost you more the shallower ALKO type.
A lot of older vans where fitted with tapered bearings and castlerated nuts with split pins.
If the bearing is not knackered you can tighten up to take up wear on bearing and put split pin in another castle on nut. all ways best to use new split pin
Wheel should rotate freely with out any side play top or bottom.
My last van cost £30 for two new BPW nuts with fitting IE torqued to correct setting and new grease cups.
