Just got this 1991 Bailey and I can't get the water to come out of the taps. The power is on hook-up, the water connected and the PUMP switch on the panel is on. I thought that if you opened a tap the pressure drop was detected and the pump ran. Is there a fault? I am new to all of this and can't even locate the pump (is it under the carver water heater).
The manual is rubbish so any trouble shooting tips would be appreciated.
I would expect that the water pump is a submersible type, and dangles into your Aquaroll. There is a two pin brass connector at the end that engages into the van. Is the connection clean?
If when you lift the tap there is a very quiet "click" then you have micro switches in the taps. With a tap open there should be 12volts passing through the two pins.
If you have 12 volts at the connection...it could be that the pump has gone...this is not uncommon...they have a limited life.
Worth a try to fiddle with the external connection whilst the tap is open.
We had a similar problem and went to Ropers in Catterick to get the pumps (yes we had bought a new one as well) to get them tested.
They both worked - the people there told us that the connections on the punp where it gets connected to the van, need to be proded open every so often. They are brass made of 4 bits each forming a cross like the top of a screw. Hubby put a small screwdriver in to seperate them a bit - problem solved.
If its a Whale pump the terminals in the pump plug are crimped on to tinned(soldered) leads and the solder oxidises and then the connection is not so good.
We found this with afew caravans on rallies ,the last one being my friends 2005 Bailey that had a habit of stopping pumping mid shower !!
Soldering the leads on direct minus the crimps solved the problem permanently and looked much better that levelling wedges against the pump plug!!
I don't think it is a submersible pump as the the van was supplied with the pipe arrangement that connects the aquaroll to the van. I can't see a 12V external connection either (which I now recall my parents Coachman has in the loo locker).
As you have a Bailey, what you should have is one of these:
on the side of the van, into which you push one of these:
The inner square bit is the plug and the tubular bit with the mushroom head is the submersible pump which goes into the aquaroll. Both wire and pipework are within the outer tubing
Thank chaps - The only boxes I have on the side and for the battery and the toilet cassette. No sign of a box like Mudlarks or a 12V connector. I am pretty sure the pump must be in or under the van but tricky to see under unless I pull the van out. On the side of the van the only connector is a round socket for the water tube to connect to. This is connected to by a water tube with an aquaroll cap and a length of fixed pipe. The water socket joins the van behind the bathroom cabinet moulding, so again tricky to trace the water pipes once they enter the van.
Not familiar with your van, but the set up sounds like what I had on my old (94) Castleton, my inlet on that was just as you describe, but it was near to & in front of the water heater on the off side front panel.
If you look around the area inside the van, where the pipe inlet is, or near the water heater, usually under the seat on the off side front, you'll probably find a Shureflow water pump, just before the cold water inlet goes into the water heater, there will be a fuse for this pump in the fuse panel and there should be one on or near the pump itself, check the fuses first, the cost of one these pumps is enough to make your eyes water!

I'm a Grumpa....its just like being a Grandpa..only grumpier!
If you open the wardrobe there is a panel on the right leading to the void behind the sink. Open the panel and pump is screwed to the otherside of it. Very tricky to see properly as the hoses have little slack.
I can confirm that there is 12V to the terminals on the pump. One side of the pump appears to be the pressure switch.
check out the microswitch of the pressure switch it might well be this that has gone, if not and the pressure switch is actuating I'm afraid it'll be the pump
