Ive just found out some scallywags have broken into my van throught the skylight. Does anyone know how much a replacement will be to fit - I'm very new to caravanning and very ignorant!
Most annoying is I moved it to a storage site on Friday from my drive and haven't informed my insurers so don't think I will be covered!
Thanks for any help.
P.S. love this site!

Welcome to UKCS kobeebbe
Im sure you will be covered, its whether you see it worth claiming. Have you had a good look to make sure they havent done any other damage climbing up?
Hope all goes well. If you put in your location someone may give you direction to a good local dealers or repair yard.

Hi,
we had a bathroom skylight replaced with a mini Heki (clear opening version) and it cost me £130. (About an hour's job)

I had to change the skylight in the bathroom after i left it open and drove down the motorway (not a good idea)
Only cost £40 for the whole unit or £25 for the cover only.
Hope this helps

Hi Bessie 500,
I'm after a "cover only", would you please inform where available.
Regards, Norman.

These are very common Norman, I know this from mine flying off recently. The main larger one are normally 400 x 400 and are avilable at any caravan sales place. Mine cost £30.
Hope you sort

Can I ask is it easy to fit a replacement skylight unit?
We can get one in our local caravan place theyve got them in stock. We dont know if we will need to have their fitters do it or whether we could do it ourselves?

hi if you can get at it its fairly easy to do,the main concern is to remove ALL old sealant from the roof as the new seal will not stick on.a hot knife and plastic scraper is required to get the old stuff off.you need to remove all the screws inside first.fitting is opposite to removal.
