hi everyone and anyone!

We have been offered an abi ace viceroy 4 berth caravan ( 84) for free by my uncle! Trouble is, neither of us knows the towing weight and I would like to see a few pics and here your reviews if anyone has this van.

Apparently he assures us that it has no damp, but the cooker needs a repairing and one tyre is flat. It has been in storage for the last year and has not been used.

Is this a good starter van, or will I have to keep saving!?

thanks

Hi Lemmie , Welcome to UKCS , this may give you a bit of an idea as to the weight
http://www.cuddles.abelgratis.net/abi.htm#all .
As to it being a good starter caravan it's free so that's a good start , but bear in mind all the accessories that you will need to buy ( does the caravan come with any ? ) . Where as you could buy a cheap-ish caravan with the accessories included .

Sorry i can't be of much help , but i'm sure someone else will be along soon with a bit more info .

Hi Lemmie,

We have an old severely damp caravan which we are currently treating, it is definately not worth the hassle but we are a bit crazy like that.

I would say if it's only the oven and tyre then it will be great for a starter van.  It depends what you are used to but we are campers so could easily manage without an oven and a new tyre won't be much.

Our van was free which is why we decided to repair it.

Have good holidays

Safy
