I have been looking at the underneath of my caravan recently - and found out that the axle, and braking rod were rusting considerably. I had a go with the sanding attachment on my drill at the weekend and tried to get the worst off - and then painted the braking rod in hammerite red oxide paint.

I wondered if anyone else had tackled their axle? I have yet to do mine but certainly intend on doing so - and also what about the supports which attach the caravan to the chassis?

yes did our bailey peagent scraped and derusted brake rods ,axle and supports whilst under there found the wall pulling away from the floor so fixed that as well.

now have a silver hammerite axle
