Hi All, My brother in law who is disabled has just bought an Eldis Wisp and his tow car is a Vauxhall Zafera 1.8 with automatic transmission which he is going to take to France.  I'm afraid of the transmission over heating in the hot weather. Has anyone out there any experience of transmission over heating or can offer  advice on how to overcome this problem.

Hi Sam, I had a problem with the gearbox overheating on my previous car (Peugeot 406 Diesel Auto). I had an additional cooler fitted by an Auto Transmission specialist - cost about £150. Have a look at the Kenlowe site they sell a cooler that was recommended to me and apparantly can be a DIY fit - not for me tho'!!!!!

Sam, my brother has an identical Zafira as he's disabled. He tows his swift with no trouble. Lots of hills where he camps too.

If, however, you go to a dealer, i'm sure they will suggest one. They need the money you know!

hi see here if your not sure have one fitted,£150 spent is better than £3000 to pay.

Hi, Thank you all for your very helpful reply's. An additional cooling fan is to be fitted by his local Vauxhall dealer.
