hang on not so quick!!!! from what ive read you have a caravan thats not even a year old and its suffering from what is caled delamination, thats not good at all.  in fact it only ever gets worse, i dont think i would be so happy to accept the repair and ask for a replacement caravan, unfortunately avondales are known for the floors doing this more so than other makes.  i think its best if you got an independant survey done before you are totally happy to accept what they say and what they are doing to remedy this.

i note from what you have said above that they explained what has gone on to you but where very careful not to mention the correct term!! alarm bells are ringing in my head here, sorry, here i quote " He explained that when caravans are first built it can happen that there is not enough glue put inside to hold all this together which includes the long pieces of wood which the plywood is stapled to." yes he was right in his description of delamination!!!! but this also suggests that they have skimped on what is a very important job and they know it!!

honestly i wouldnt be accepting this.

I had a cracked floor on a 1999 Eccles Moonstone during its warranty. 4ft long, from edge of wheel arch forwards. This caused the side of the van to drop. The dealer suggested I had bottomed the suspension to cause it. I did not accept this and involved Swift.

Swifts answer was that the only possible long term repair was to replace the whole floor. This was done by removing the body from the chassis/floor with a special purpose jig. A new floor was then put in and all parts replaced. The work was so well done the only way you could tell the repair had been done was the lino was a different shade.

Don't accept a patch up. You will regret it later when it fails out of warranty.

Steve
