Hello
I'm hoping that someone can help me. We picked up our caravan on Saturday. They insisted that the engineer had serviced the van.
When we got it to the site and hooked up etc, we switched on the fan master. Now, the gas fire works fine, but hot air blower (fan) doesn't work on gas or electric. The light on the selector just flash non stop.
We phoned the dealer who said it was working fine before and it could be our battery? In all fairness our battery is knackered but would this affect the fanmaster?
I hope that makes sense, we havent had the luxury of Fanmaster before!

The fan does work off 12V so a duff battery could mean it will not work. Were you on EHU, and can your charger run stuff without a battery in place?------------- Jennifer

Get a new battery and try it. If it still doesn't work take it back to the dealer and get it fixed.

If you were on EHU regardless of the condition of your battery your fanmaster should work as your 12 volt charger would supply the current
it sounds like you have a fault with the electric motor in the fanmaster, providing your ELCB unit (charger) is working correctly all your 12 volt circuits will function for the dealer to say that a defective battery may be the cause is a load of codswallop
if you had no battery conected at all all your 12 v systems will function the battery only serves as a back up when a big demand is placed on the 12 volt system
have you checked the 12 volt fuses if so the fault must be in the motor or possibly a broken feed

The light should flash and then go solid when the system has checked itself, if it continues to flash but more slowly then it's detected a fault.
The most common fault is low battery voltage which needs to be above 10.5v for the fanmaster to work, there are plenty of other faults though!

Hi Michael,
Just looking at your parts diagram of the fanmaster, do you have the list of the numbers, ie, what is no 1, 2, etc. called.
Thanks.
