I am thinking of renovating my caravan, ie. taking out existing double bed (it's a 2 birth van) and replacing it with free standing furniture. does anyone know of any reasons why this cant be done or any advice on how to do this successfully. Im new to all this.
Things you may need to consider . Weight of the bed will be quite a bit more than the caravan fitted one . Fitted caravan beds spread their weight quite well to the caravan floor / walls , where as the bed you are thinking of putting in will have all the weight on just the 4 legs , imo the caravan floor isn't strong enough to support this weight in such a localised area . You will need to stop the bed from moving about whilest towing .
Thank you wizard and neil, sorry i dont get regular access to the internet so am slow with reply's. I am a bit nervous about renovating now so will probably leave it alone, rather leave it than have the side collapse on me through lack of support. thanks for advice youve probably saved me a big headache.
