sorry just to jump on your thread, but just wanted to ask / clarify...
with your damp repair, are you using hardboard instead of ply? I ask as I am currently doing one, and I know that hardboard is easy to get in homebase etc etc, but ply is proving a lot harder / more expensive to source. Personally I don't see there being much difference since it is going to be covered anyway and it has no significant need for strength - or am I wrong?
