Just picked up my new van today, spent all evening swapping stuff accross and trying to make sure i know how everything works before we go away this weekend. in fact im sat in it typing this now!!
does anyone know if there is a retro fit kit to add elecric heating to this heater.
the case has plastic blanks where the controls would be, this model is only gas though.
a little strange to me that the water heater is gas/electric but the heater is only gas.
would that be replacing the whole unit, or just using the appropriate bits from it? the heater already has blow air, which is why we are looking into adding the electric to it.

pulling the fire out to add bits doesnt faze me, and I know a couple of gas fitters to check it all afterwards.
prob is with ebay , there were a lot of caravans flooded in june 2007 , they were wrote off , but now the parts from them are starting to appear on ebay discribed as nearly new , but far from it , if it is nearly new or never been used they would possabily stillhave the packaging , with truma parts everything is traceable back to the van it was put in , so if the van was wrote off due to flood damage in 2007 alarm bells ring
i know gary tests every thing he sells so no probs there , and unlike some ebayers hes at the end of a phone , unlike ebayers who have a disposable email address

Looking at the examples, the two sales are of two parts that should be one, neither is any good on it's own unless you already have the other, having said that, £20 odd quid for them both is a real bargain should they work that is?!
I buy off ebay all the time, I know exactly what I'm looking at and know what it's worth, sadly I get too many phone calls from people who do the same with no such knowledge and end up paying me to put it right.
I contacted the person I got them from,and he said the fire was from his friends 2004 van (rounded front model) that was damaged in a collision with a lorry,and was working perfectly before being taken out,but he only wanted the burner unit in the fire so put the other items on Ebay,I think he put them on in 2 auctions hopeing to get more money,a friend who is a registered sparky tested them for me,and installed the 240v connections and it works great on all three settings,I have seen just the little three heat settings control unit on Ebay go for aver £25 so I took a gamble as I thought I could get my money back alone on that if it did not all work,on a chilly night if I set it to 500w it keeps the van loverly and warm,but not too hot.if timtheenchanter gets one from you I dont think he will dissapointed with it.
I do know that from Truma UK the heater element alone is £168.50.

Ahh, that explains something then, I too was looking into putting a electric element in my Carver/Truma 3000. And had sent Gary and e-mail, I didnt get a reply back, I assumed I was being too much of a pest with my post or he was really busy.
hi how do you remove the grey truma control box does it unplug ?mines stopped working.had green light untill i unpluged the jack plug .now no green light.was checking nothing had come loose.was working fine then started blowing cold air turned it off and tried it the next night still no joy.
