my van has a montecarlo 2000 oven, and a cramer 4 burner hob/grill.

both are supposed to have ignition on them, but it doesnt work, no click or anything.
I know its not peizo ignition, as there is no "click button" just an switch.

does anyone know is the ignition is 12V (ie leisure battery) powered or if they need a couple of AAs or somthing, the installation manual doesnt even mention anything about ignition.

It's 12v straight from the van battery, common reason is a dodgy button not making good contact, otherwise a poor connection at the ignition unit or it's failed
Should you need to, you might find the ignition unit under the hob in the front right corner...if your lucky!

Yep 12v system, we need our 12v master switch on for it to work.

the ignition unit is right at the back left, so im not lucky, although the switch is only a cheepie thing, so will "short" that and see if it works.
I might even have a suitable repacement in my box `o` bits
it might even be on the 12V bit of my van thats not working at the moment.

Hi sorry to interupt this thread but we are new caravaners and are hoping to use our Bailey Pageant GT50  this weekend but like the above we cannot see anyway of igniting the oven grill or hob all we have is the usual knobs to turn for low or high gas.

We can light with a match but can see igniters but cant see how to use them.

Thanks.

you can use a gas lighter as we do,cost about £2. turn on gas to low setting and when lit hold down knob for a few seconds until it stays on what you think are flame igniters on each burner are possibly flame fail parts.
