I had to remove the sink unit in the washroom to locate a leak.

Having fixed the leak I need to put it all back, however the strips of silicone do not want to come off the wall board and are lifting the wall paper from the backing board.

Searching on here turned up a link to Screwfix http://www.screwfix.com/cats/A336165/Sealants-Adhesives/Sealants/Sealant-Remover will these remove the silicone from the wallpaper with damage? Is teh more expensive on the best - any recommendations or suggestions please?

Ta

Steve

wish we had that issue the stuff on our walls peels off no problem its getting it to stick.
i would try and use a razor blade paint scrapper first cutting as much as you can off then try and rub the bits off with your fingers. as for the other stuff it can make a mess.

The silicone remover sounds fine until you get to the 'leave for at least 24 hours' bit. Do it the hard way.

Hi Steve,

I have used Evostick silicone remover on the outside of a window See Here and the remover is a gel, only had to leave it on for 30 minutes for it do do its job and with the wallboard being a plastic face most probably would not harm the surface.

If I were you I would remove as much as possible, the hard mechanical way, then test a small area with the remover. If that is successful....slap it on!!
