Can anybody help me. I have recently bought a 2005 van with a Carver water heater and Truma fire. All was fine on our first trip but on the second trip the water went cold when it had been switched on electric. I tool the van back to the dealer and they checked it 5 times and they found no problem. I have just been away and the water is once again not heating on electric and low and behold the fire has stopped working on electric as we;;. I have checked the trip switches and fuses and all seems ok.  Is there some reason that these 2 things should stop working at the same time. Both are fine on gas.

When you say the water went cold, did it ever get hot? If that was the case it could be that you have an airblock in the system and the boiler tank is not filling up. One way of getting round that is to completely empty the tank and start again. It could also be the reason why no fault was found at the dealer. When this has happened to us we also try heating the water on gas first off which also seems to clear the problem. I am sure Gary will be along to offer advice on both problems.

Thanks David

Yes it was hot on our first time away and the fire worked as well on electric. I should have noted the water heater as a Truma not a Carver
