Hello, it's been a while since I was last on the forum. Firstly i'd like to say thank you to all those who have offered advice through this forum. It's been invaluable and greatly appreciated. The search for a budget 2 berth is over ! After months of seeing some terrible, damp ,rotten caravans, most of which were advertised as DRY and in good condition. ( I wish I'd had my camera with me when visiting a large caravan dealer, and the van with the No Haggle price of £1900 had mushrooms growing out of the carpet !) On friday I drove to Somerset to buy my well looked after and DRY 1989 windrush 12/2. So, now i'm an owner, there are a whole lot of new questions to be asked ! Although my new 'van has been very well looked after, there are no manuals for the van or any of the appliances, so I need to know where to get this information. Also, the front window has seen better days and i'll start looking for a replacement. So, does anyone know if the front window is the same size for all the windrush models? I am pressuming that the 11/2, 12/2, 13/2 etc are different lengths, but the same width, so am hoping the window size is the same, which should make finding a replacement easier. Anyway, that  will do for starters!  , Mark.

My sister in law had one of these little vans some years ago. I believe there is a very active owners club:

The Windrush Club

Maybe they will have the answers for you.

If your window is the 'wrap round' one then the big problem is fitting it? I believe one guy used to fit them at the factory! but I suspect your right in thinking their all the same.

Try ringing Bob Clark at Grimsby, 01472 240601, I think he will tell you exactly what's what

Thank you for that. Just spoken to Bob Clark, what a nice man, most helpful. I'll start looking for a window. Mark.

Mark.
I have had a 1983 Windrush 15/2 van for about 12 years. We take it abroad nearly every year.

I have all the original info for the van - handbook with circuit diagrams, fridge, cooker, heater and water heater handbooks. I don't know which water heater yours has, but our Carver 1 water heater was mended last year by Gary who gave an earlier reply to you. He is a wiz with anything Carver. His web address is www.arcsystems.biz.

Last year the extremes of our travels were Loch Lomond in the north, at Easter, to Saumur on the Loire, in August. You can see some photos at www.hawkhurst.f2s.com/caravan. I must get round to updating the site with some newer photos, but it should some indication of the van and its travels. We are booked Dover - Dunkerque again for summer and hope to head for the Alsace region.

The Windrush is an excellent old van, though yours is a bit newer than mine and if looked after should give many years of service. I have had to replace a few parts, but have always been able to get them 'off the shelf'

Enjoy your Windrush.

John
