I have replaced the water pump in my cold water only knaus whose wiring was less than perfect!!  I have also replaced the taps with new ones and the replacement pump is a new whale.

I have connected the battery to the water pump.  I have connected the kitchen sink tap to the battery.  I have connected the bathroom tap to the pump.  Basically there is a junction connector in the kitchen and another in the bathroom.

Now when I connect the battery the pump will not switch off.  I would have thought the microswitch taps would have been enough to break the circuit when they were turned off???

I had invited a local onsite caravan repair man around but he failed to show today so I am now determined to resolve the issue myself!!!

Im no expert on this as never really looked in to set up but! Should the pump be connected to the taps as connecting to permanent power the pump will permantly be on so following the wire from the taps should lead to a swithc or junction where the pump should plug to meaning turning the tap on should power the pump up.

but like i said I 'm not an expert so could be a mile away

Come on someone must know the answer, thanks to jaysere03 but I still havent managed to sort it.....am going away next Friday night!

I will have to order a skip to get rid of all the offcut wire currently residing in the toilet!

 go to halfords and get the caravan manual fourth edition its help me out a lot  it will cost about £18 to £20 hope this helps

basically you need the pump to be in a circuit with the kitchen tap, think of a circle with three things linked together, them being, battery, pump and tap.

First connect one wire from the pump to one terminal on the battery, from the other terminal of the battery connect one terminal of the microswitch, finaly the only two free spaces are one wire from the pump and the free side on the switch connect these two. now only when the switch is activated(open the tap) will current flow switching the pump on.

Then  test.

once that work you can add bathroom, by connecting one side of that switch with the battery and the pump, the same places as the connections from the other swich, the switches are now in parallel so either will complete the circuit.
