Has anyone else experienced problems with their Fleetwood Caravan?
I have had the floor injected, damp treatment to the front, kitchen and back and also I have had to replace the oven.
I've still not really finished as the cushions need repairing and also the carpet could do with replacing.
Maybe I just got a bad one or is this systematic of a caravan which is 10 years old or a just because its a Fleetwood one? Starting to wish I had bought a new one on finance now and avoided all these issues.
unusual mate as fleetwoods are well built, what year is your colchester as if it is new shape post 99 there was build issues as that was during the adria takeover
We had a Colchester (2001) and the only problem we had was a bit of springiness in the floor-hubby sorted that out.it wasn't damp though.

I have a Fleetwood, and it is in great condition for its age..... although I had a serious rot problem in the front....see repair link below!! The oven on mine is like new. The external sealant used to seal the rails & windows is only designed to last 5 to 10 years (that is why mostly new vans have a 5 year water ingress warranty), although I know of 25 year old vans where it is still fine on the original seals! Resealling is costly so I think that most people dont bother till it is too late. You pay your money or take your chance.
Fleetwoods have always been good quality vans, but most of the issues that you have stated seem to relate to previous owners.....ie oven, cushions and carpets etc. If not looked after these will always be in poor condition on a van that age and need replaced.
Delamination of floors is common to all vans, and can be repaired easily with a resin injection system.
I know it can seem daunting when you get a list of problems, but if you wanted a new van you would have had to pay three to five times more. I love my old van and accept that it is no longer in pristine condition, but that very fact allows us to relax when we are away as we dont have to worry about every little spill and muddy mark.....it will clean up when we get home. I hope you have fun with your van, and get things the way you want them. A little elbow grease does wonders, but sometmes you have to spend more cash. It's up to you really!
Mine is a 1999 Fleetwood, dont get me wrong now that everything is virtually done I'm loving it again.
I've finished off with a new oven anyway after not being able to find a door for the original which had smashed, but funnily enough I hardly use it, I bought a pizza oven from Maplin for £15 and I just plug it in and it cooks anything.
I got the floor repaired, but its slightly spongy again but thats due to be fixed by the original repairer.
If I had bought new I dont think my car would have been able to cope with the heavier weights for a 5 berth, plus it has a large kitchen which you dont see much these days in the newer caravans.
