I have a leak at the rear right hand side of my 1991 Avondale Grampian (about head height internally)
I am attempting to remove the awning rail so that I can reseal it but, starting at the bottom, it is proving very very difficult to get off - I have removed the screws but it seems to be stuck really well.
I need to get the rail off as water is obviously getting in further up the rail, but by putting too much force into trying to remove it, I am going to end up distorting it quite badly (and it will take forever).
Has anyone else had this problem? Any bright ideas to make it easier?
Wizard did pop round today and it seems that the rail has been fixed with something a lot stronger than sealant! He had a go and also found it very difficult to move.
In view of the age of the van (appearance is not the main priority) I am going to run a bead of sealant around all the rails and hopefully this will prevent water from getting in.
