Hi All

I have an elldis avante 2005.

We have just arrived at the c & cc site at Canerbury.

Had a shower, but the cold water tap wont turn off!

It is dribbling, and the cold tap just "spins" around.

I have taken the top off, but can't seem to get any further.

There is a plastic nut but it is rock solid.

The taps have "whale" printed on them.

Any help and ideas appreciated, as we will have to use the shower block, and the boss is not to happy!!

sounds like the shaft has broken inside the tap.

I managed to get it apart and it is the shaft that has broken.

It is the one you mentioned also.

I will try Canterbury Caravans if they are open today, or order from leisure direct for when I get home.

Sorted and really chuffed!

Went to Caravans south east, Whitstable.

A friendly chap found a tap and stem for £1.83!

I was expecting to have to maybe purchase a whole unit, thats if they had one in stock.

Bought some sealant (which cost more then the part),then put it together.

The only tricky part, of which I needed a help, was putting the unit back into the shower shelve.

There is a wooden washer, which the screws screw into, and I had to push it up from behind the wall of the shower, while my partner screwed in the screws.

So really pleased, I was expecting to pay much more, plus did'nt expect a caravan shop to be open, and have the part in stock.
