Can anyone help with a solution or a reason for water leaking around the caravan door? Last week I noticed that the door on our Elddis Hurricane XL was frozen all over the inside at the start of this spell of really cold weather. Also what I had previously dismissed as just 'water trodden in by boots & dog' last time we were out (early November), and maybe a bit of condensation, had now frozen the entrance carpet solid! But on removing this piece of carpet plus metal connector strip, peeled back main carpet to find more water underneath! Have now dried everything out and checked door rubber seal which seems OK, no light shining through. Is this normal? Just condensation? Probably wrong time of year to try & investigate more as everything thoroughly frozen up here but any suggestions welcomed.24

could be the door frame has broken its seal and water gotten in frozen and expanded the tiny hole to a bigger one and the cycle continues, I would run round the door frame with sealent, we did ours before winter we had a tiny leak not one u could see but he results was damp corner, all sorted now no damp carpet.

Thanks wildie, will need a spell of warm weather before able to do anything with sealant!! have also seen mention of elddis door not sitting properly in frame (on another forum) solution was to tighten door against frame - may also have to try this later in year!24

I would suggest you take out the screws, carefully remove the old sealant around the frame, then using something like Sikaflex 512 caravan, Re-seal paying particular attention to the screw holes. As wildie says it only takes a small crack in the sealant and the water finds its way to the floor!
Otherwise it is most probably the door seal allowing rain to get past.

Thanks LawrenceR. Have checked your website photos and you could be right! As we still have a couple of months warranty with dealer, I am going to see if this is covered by them.
