hi,we bought a 12 yaer old caravan a few month ago,used a damp meter on it which showed no dampness.i was wondering if i cleaned and dryed around all areas where there is sealant,doors rails windows etc.and applied a bead of caravan sealant around all these areas,i`m quite handy with a mastic gun as i use one in my trade,would it help keeping dampness out or would i be wasting my time?if i have any spare time in summer months i will reseal caravan properly but until then would this help?thanks

IMO if it isn`t leaking you will be wasting your time, and if it IS you will also be wasting your time.

If you are that unsure as to its sealing, I would be tempted to get a cheap top-half cover to keep the worst off it until you can do a proper job.
