Hi Everyone.

I have a 2003 Eccles Sapphire that has little dark patches of mould appearing on the cupboards.  Everytime I remove the mould by polishing or with mould remover, there is a little dark mark left behind, and every couple of weeks there is a little bit more.  The caravan is definitely not suffering from damp as I have checked it with a very good meter, but with weather conditions as they are at the min sometimes when i do go into the caravan there is a little bit of condensation on the units.  Has anyone else come across this or does anyone know how to remove the dark marks left behind?  Its a very nice caravan and I don't want to see it ruined.

Condensation and mould to my mind both need moisture i.e. damp from somewhere. Have you been all over it.

There are proprietry mould removers available which generally work reasonably well.

So when I've condensation on my bedroom window in the morning it means I've a water ingress problem in my house? Or when I turn the heater on in the car is there a dampness problem in my car?  Of course not.  If the caravan which is closed up is at a different temperature than the outside surroundings then of course condensation can form without there being a damp issue in the caravan.  Yes I've been all round it, dampness reading is somewhere around 14-16%, satisfactory considering the residual moisture contained within wood.

No - when you have condensation in your bedroom it means you have been breathing. This causes moisture!

Ah but its the temperature difference between my room and the outside that cause the water vapour in the air to condense on the glass. There is water vapur in air, even in a room with no one on it.  If the caravan heats up through the day, then it suddenly gets cold around 4, condensation could possibly for on the caravan units under these circumstances.  There is no dampness on the panels, more of a faint mist, and only occassionly.  How do i address the issues of the mould forming and is there any tried and tested method of removing the black dots.  Has anyone else experienced this?

i had this one year round the cooker area i found it was where the cooker splashes of fat had settled on the wall and cupboard base unseen by the eye.i removed the marks/mould with diluted FENDOX by fenwicks.i now wipe down the walls/cupboards when putting the van to rest for winter.i have had no recurrence of mold/mould since then.i use it watered down to clean the fridge without problem.it will also clean out the header tank of the toilet to get rid of black spots caused by the pink stuff.

Thanks Michael for the advice.  I'll get some of this at the weekend and see if it does the trick.
