Hi all, i have a very small area no more than 4 inches square that squeaks when it is stood on.Is there a way to stop this without the expense of a delaminating kit ?.The floor is bone dry and solid inside and out with no spongyness/damp atall.I am about to fit a good quality laminate floor and wish to do a good job.Any advice would be much appreciated.
If the floor appears in good condition as you say then check you don't have a screw loose! Not referring to yourself of course, but possibly one that holds something in position on the floor. I had a squeak for a while on a small part of floor in my van and it turned out to be a loose screw that held the side dinette seating to the floor, a quick tighten and the squeak disappeared!
Could also be that there is a join in the floor there, you have delam starting, and the edges of the boards are squeaking against each other when they move.
