Hi everyone we have just purchased an ABI Globstar 1991 model. The seller assured us no damp.everything looked good.got it home and had a really good look and guess what van has been leaking around the windows at the front.we were well upset.there were stickers of flowers on the back of the van .after closer inspection they werent there for decoration oh no they were there to hide a problem.Looks like the van has been repaired on the back corner .Had a look inside and more damp. After removing the back seat someone had done a nice cover up job.I was gutted .thought there was no way out ,spent all our hard earned cash and bought a bag of nails. Then i came across this site and realised we were not alone .Its nice to know there are still some helpfull people in the world. We would be most grateful for any ideas on hw to fix our problem many thanks Kev and Debo

oh no not you too you could read my post  'help please' to see that you are not alone. I dont know how these people can live with themselves.

We have just spent a fortune to have the van repaired and although it looks good and is dry now i no longer like it . We spent a fortune on buying it and then repaire. We found the damp on cleaning it as soon as we got home and thats when all the excitment went and it hasnt come back. I have to go in today to get it ready for our 1st trip fri and i have even been putting that off . May sound stupid i know but once youv been ripped off cryed about how your gonna pay for the repairs and worried  and then seen the bad points its really hard to like the bugger lol

Theres lots of help on here to do the work yourself . We had all the back wallbords replaced round our fixed bunks at crack sealed on the back it was only 3inch long if that and all the lights sealed  the awning trim resealed at the cost of £1300. I hagled for a free service and had to pay for the tires costing £100 . We just didt have the time to do it ourself.

oh good luck poor you let us know how you go x
