just to let you all know what the problem was??

the daft donkey had the remote upside down and everytime he thought the accutator was supposed to be moving forward it was actually telling it to retract but it couldnt lol so eventually i got a hold of the remote and we then discovered that it had been upside down.

how stupid we must have looked eh ?? luckily we were in our rear garden fitting the mover to his van and testing it out the way of prying eyes.

but yes it works a treat he then towed his caravan home and we effortlessly put his van on his drive without breaking into a sweat.
