Is there a technique for jacking up the caravan to remove the wheels?
i.e. should corner steadies be up/down, chock wheels, etc.
Need to get some new tyres.

Steve.

I always jack first with handbrake on & chocs then steadies down when it is raised otherwise there is a dander of pushing a steady through the floor.

Please ensure steadies are up before jack goes down otherwise one will go through the floor!

Others will disagree possibly!

Love your statute & pigeon line.

NEVER jack a caravan other than from under the axle or the axle plate behind the wheel. It can cause distortion of the chassis if you dont

preferably jack one side up while the van is hitched to the car place axle stand under axle then do other side & THEN unhitch & put down steady's

If you cannot hitch up,H/brake on.block one side while removing other side, lower steadys just above the ground as a safety precaution so that the weight does not rest on them as you tip the caravan when jacking it up on one sid. lower steadys fullt when van is on stands

I always place chocks on the opposite wheel as well as applying the handbrake. Better safe than sorry.

I agree with above - don't lower the steadies until the van is jacked up. If you do as the van tilts it will stress the chassis.

Never trust the jack alone to support the van. They can and do fail and if the van drops it can cause serious injury and damage. I always use a couple of axle stands as backups.
