Help I have 93 abi daystar and the drivers side lights on my van are lit at half power.I have changed both car and van pin connectors but no change .Also changed top rear light on van still dim lit.Where do the wires run from at the rear of van to the front are they housed between the van walls .Dont fancy ripping van to bits to rewire drivers side .Can anybody shine some light on subject get it shine some light a well I thought it was i bit funny I do have some basic electrical knowledge and I really want to fix this Barbara
you might want to check the earth on your light fittings. A poor earth can cause all sorts of funny effects.
On my 1996 Elddis, the wires from rear to front are underneath attached to the chassis.
The first thing I would do is plug it into another car to check if the fault is with the car or the van.
Then, I agree it's probably an earth fault. Just clip a wire to any earth point on the car, and couple ot to the earth connection inside the caravan. The problem should go away. If it does, check all the connections on that wire.
thanks everyone for advice , discovered new rear top light had longer screws for securing to van yes you got it one went through the live wire used smaller screws back on road cheers
