The wires may run underneath on Bailey as far as I can see.

 As well as the earth, check the actual connections in the lamps for corrosion or dirt.

The first thing I would do is plug it into another car to check if the fault is with the car or the van.

Then, I agree it's probably an earth fault.  Just clip a wire to any earth point on the car, and couple ot to the earth connection inside the caravan.  The problem should go away.  If it does, check all the connections on that wire.
