anyone know which type of fittings r the best i have clamps that have a nasty habbit of stripping the thread and personaly i think they rubbish several times when the weather is a little bit windy i have had to retighten the frame of the awning when erecting the awning i more or less do it myself as oh not fit enough to hold poles apart whilst i tighten the clamps so can anyone sugest another pole system or even better clamps thanks for any help

Have you tried Carbon Fibre poles ? They do cost a bit more but are more flexible in the wind so not so rigid. Any good awning stockists will either have or be able to get them for you

You can get alocking mechanism (4th picture down an 2nd across)which are easier to use, I have something similar on my Ventura Cadet awning, just need your thumb to use.

There are of course other makes available, you will just have to do a bit of research!
