We have a carver water heater which works ok but has recently developed an annoying noise when its warming up. It seems to happen when the temp has dropped and it kicks in to keep the water up to temperature. Its not a load noise but a kind of quiet whistling nosie and once the water is at temp it stops as the heater is no longer warming it up.

Any advice on what maybe causing it or to how to stop it?? I thought it may have air in the system maybe but couldnt see anywhere to bleed the system??

its on electric 240v. We've had the van for 12 months and never heard the water heater before, even when its been left switched on day and night but recently can hear a very light whistling noise when it kicks in to warm back up to temp. Its not loud, just not heard it before and it is a little annoying!!!

This is not common so I would think there are two possibles, either there is a build up of limescale on the element, or, the thermostat is faulty.

Not sure which I pick first but changing the thermostat is not expensive and more fiddly than difficult to do
