Usually the sealant tape should come with the rooflight. I have had this problem with my Swift lower rail, W4 is just not thick enough, However I did double up and it was fine, just a messy job joining the two together. A little tip though is to put the W4 in the fridge over night, that way it wont be too tacky for you to join the two together.

i swapped to a mini heki 2 years back i doubled up the mastic tape.the way a heki is fitted there aint a cat in hells chance of it blowing away.

i would agree its an adhesive as a sealant it aint brilliant.i used it on my daughters awning rail. cleaned thoroughly with white spirit then de greased,still leaked.a lot of bonded windscreens use sikaflex and a lot leak.
