Help is again required to sort out another problem with my Lunar Lexon 640 RS 2008 the blown air fan (Truma) has got very noisy. I have taken the front of the fir off and removed the accumalation of dust dirt etc, at first the fan was very quiet but today it started again its as if its catching on something, any ideas please.
Not sure what's happened to your post, looks like the HTML script hasn't done as you expected.
If I've interpreted this right, you've got a noisy fan.
Apart from the accumulated dust you've cleared, the only other option is that the fan bearings are perhaps worn, in which case you need to change the fan (which I assume is fully accessible). The voltage will be shown on the fan and you simply measure the size to locate a replacement, maybe from Maplin or CPC.
To prove whether it is the bearings, you can temporarily get away with applying the smallest amount of lubricant to the middle underside of the central section of the fan i.e., where the fan blades connect on the armature.
As it happens the truma fan motor is very robust and at 2yr old the bearings won't be the issue, just as well as you have no hope of finding a replacement other than a genuine one which is circa £50!
One possible for the noise is, the spring clip type fixings that the screws use to hold the fan housing to the fire back, but first make sure the three screws are tight
I had a noise on my new Quaser from the fan the first time it got hot the motor is held in place by a spring clip that secures it to 2 rubber covered metal posts it was not seated correctly at the just moved it back slightly it is fine now, you have to remove the air assembly first to get to it though by loosening the 3 screws on the air box and rotating it.
We put the heating on this afternoon with the fan on, and it started off dead quiet then over a period of about 30 minutes it got louder intially by a clicking sound then sounded like a fag packet in your bike spokes, it has now returned to quiet again. I do not want to call in a mobile engineer cos I feel that I could be ripped off with this situation, a bit of grease would probably silence it temporary.
