we are trying to replace front lid locks to our van as the old ones are broken, one fitted and worked perfectly but the other one seems to be upside down, when in the open position the lock is pointing down not up, are there left and right locks , or are we just doing something wrong.

Try turning the lock to close before fitting or open if that makes sence.

the arm is usually removable so you can have it any way , just remove the screw

is the bar held on by a circlip or screw? if so remove all the lock,remove the bar and fit it pointing the other way,refit the lock.worth a try.
