Sorry if this has been asked before.
When we went to our caravan to check it over a couple of months ago we found the toilet slide stuck shut on the Thetford toilet, it is possible it was frozen but I wanted to ask people who have more experience than us, how to unstick it just in case it is still stuck when we go to use the caravan on Friday. Unfortunately the bad weather struck before I had read on this forum that the slide should be left open, so we didn't get back to the caravan to open it.
Take it outside and spray it with Wd40 making sure you have sprayed a lot of it round the seal,let it sit for a while then respray and try turning,What has happened is the plastic blade is stuck to the rubber seal.if that dosent work hot water not boiling..and remember to coat the blade again with wd40..and if that doesent work use the campsites loo..
Either olive oil or silicon spray on the working parts will lubricate it. When leaving it in cold weather drain it down and leave the blade slightly open.

ours and neighbours were stuck as well we forgot to leave them open ,we done the silicone drench for a few days and now working perfect wont forget this year to leave it open
