Hi can anyone help me i have a 1980 swift danette 5berth & the shock absorbers are looking really rusty & look as if they are going to snap off so i want to replace them but i dont have a clue what shocks i need? I have seen alko shocks for sale blue & red but i dont know if they will be the right ones or size as i dont know what chassis i have? any help would be very grateful.
Is it an Alko chassis with the usual arm & rubber suspension? If it has you would probably be ok just by removing old shocks & not using any. Very few older caravans with Alko chassis actually have shock absorbers, some have fitting for them & were optional extras.
The colour coding blue/green/red denotes weight rating, I think.
