Hi we have just bought a Fleetwood Colchester 1700-6 (no idea what year) caravan and have a few repairs to do!! The main problem is damp, the sky light has obviously been very badly repaired in the past so we have taken the offending section of the interior roof out. This is obviously an old caravan as the insulation was fibre glass (which was still wet) we have left it to dry out and removed all offending damp parts ready to be re-placed, everything is lovely and dry now. My question is once the insulation and roof are replaced what do we cover it with? Can regular wallpaper be used if so what do you bond it with or must we use a specialist covering. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a lovely big van and bought with the problems as a project.
Hi caff, I've just replaced front of van from about half way down. When I priced up wall board it was between 40 & 70 pound compared to £11 for a 8x4 sheet of 3.6mm ply so it was an obvious choice. I'm just going to Pva the ply then use a good quality paste mixed quite thick. Hope this helps
