As above, electrolux 2200 12/240v/gas fridge, not been used over the winter, hooked up to mains, can hear the compressor running but no cooling inside.Have left it for a week due to high ambient temps, the 2 x large vents and flue appear clear.I have only run it on gas and occassionally on 12v til now since I rarely stay on sites with hookup.
I tried a search but it was mainly the usual gas burner/flue problems that came up.Am I right in remembering there was a trick op taking the unit out and standing it on its head to get the coolant back where it should be ??
Any help,I would be grateful.....sorry for being such an idiot with this (probably) obvious issue.....

Have heard that before, not sure how true it is,
but if your removing fridge to try it, I would also check that there is a circuit on the 240v element, as this is a usual fault and easy to replace

Is it working on gas?
I'm not sure what you can hear, but a three way fridge has no compressor. If it is not working on gas or 12 volts then I'd definately turn it upside down. A few minutes is often enough. If it works on gas or 12 volts then it is most likely the element failed.

The Noise could be a fan, mine has an external fan, I changed my element about a year ago think it cost about 40quid from www.leisureshopdirect.com
they dont have all elements in these days but if you know what wattage it is they do have similiar that will do, if the element has blown, remove it and it should be written on the side what wattage it is
hope it helps

You will cool a lot of beers for £40 worth of gas.

Meaning that it is cheaper to run on gas ?
Anyway, the fan (?) has stopped today so I have turned it off. Will try it on 12v next....
Q; does the electric element run on the mains AND the 12v supply ?
...if so,I now have a gas only fridge....back to the 70s

It cant be cheaper! if you get an ehu when on a site then it will cost more to run on gas(youve already paid for the electric)
the 12v uses a different element than the 240v one, so should work on 12v and gas

I don't mean it is cheaper to run on gas than on electric, but £40 worth of gas will run a fridge for a heck of a long time.
