I have just purchased a Swift (2000) 2 berth Celeste. The AKs 2004 stabiliser fitted. This does not appear to be working properly. I started to look at changing the friction pads, but got frightened by the procedure. Saw an Alko 1300 on e-bay (2nd hand) which covered the weight of my caravan (1210Kg). However it states not for use on Alko chassis with overrun facility, Not sure what this is.
Question, can I replace an Alko 2004 with an Alko 1300 and is it easy to do, are there any complications
Thank Toz
I think it would be a backward step to buy a used Alko 1300 off ebay ( 1300 stabilisers get jamed sometimes ) , the pad replacement shouldn't be that difficult , do you have the 2004 handbook ? it shows the replacement quite clearly . Whats not working correctly on your stabiliser ?
If you email me ( link below ) i'll email you the handbook plus some other info for your stabiliser .
