Interestingly a mate of mine did his course last week, overall he was impressed, that's despite my cautionary words!

From what he told me, it's a foundation course, your expected to then go on to manufacturers courses as well as gas and electric courses.

Don't then for a second think your a caravan service engineer after one week! but... 'it is a good albeit very intense course, the guys teaching really know what their doing and are very helpful', that's what my mate said.

As Gary has said, The first MCEA course covers an overall insight into caravan servicing. As a general starter the course is excelent, the instructors (all senior time served caravan engineers) give an really good start to all attendents. After the course everyone is expected to carry on the training with various manufacturers and to attain the relevent gas and electrical qualifications. Listing onto the MCEA website will only be allowed after a time served period and proof that further training and insurances are in place. Each individual runs his/her own business the way that they see fit. The MCEA is not a franciase. Some will fail and some will prosper. Don't think for one minute that the MCEA course will make you a qualified caravan engineer because it will not, and it is not designed to do this.  You will need to continue training and will need to spend a considerable sum of money in the process. The MCEA has a great support network, with help available 24/7. We all work together and will help any member when the need arises. I have had help along the way from many people, one of whom was Gary (Cheers buddy). I am now feeling confident enough to help others on forums such as this one. Is the MCEA course woth doing???????????? Yes in my opinion, but be prepared for the long haul.

You will never stop learning and should never expect to.......Godd luck!!!!!!!!!!!
