Doesn't the grey plug also charge the battery ? Just a thought for us motor mover people

This is an old post you've resurrected, but the grey 7S does indeed carry the battery charge feed, (assuming the socket is fitted to the car properly too). This function is also dealt with via the 13pin plug too though, so its still perfectly correct to upgrade/convert to 13 pin without any loss of this circuit.
