Hi, I'm restoring a 1990 Coachman Mirage 440/5. I wonder if someone could give me some help with my Zig unit. I think the number is C5SD or something like that, I just had it in my head but forgot while typing...boo! Anyway it is a small unit fitted in a unit by the entrance door. It has a 240v mains switch at the top. Then below that there is a single fuse holder. Below that is a LED that changes from green to red depending on whether the hookup (to the car) is connected. Then there is a 3-way rocker switch (12V on) (off) (12V + P on), and below that there are 3 fuse holders. Any idea what unit this is, and if I can get info/instructions and/or wiring data?

Many thanks fellas.

It's over 20 years since I last wired in a Zig unit but they are fairly straight forward if you read the labels and understand the wiring of your caravan, there is normally a fuse for the water pump circuit and one for the lights and another for the heater etc but it will vary according to your caravans set up. From memory the single fuse is the charging circuit fuse. If it is installed already and everything is working then simply pull the fuses one a time to see what stops working and then label them up or draw a diagram for future reference. This should also help you to work out the colour codes for the rest of the 12V wiring. A caravan from 1990 is going to have a fairly simple electrical system but if you are working on the mains side of things get it checked out by a competent electrician and also think seriously about installing a modern dual pole fuse and rcd board.

Thanks...found out today it's a LOGIC 1 not a ZIG, and it doesn't do much. Think I'll replace it with a ZIG that controls things better. Any advice on the best model to have? I also need a battery charger...thanks in advance.
