Hi has anybody any idea of the building,regs planning permission with regard to the erection and build of a purpose made car port to the side of a my detached bungalow, to store my caravan, the proposed lean to size i would like  to erect is approx max 3 metres high x 6metres long. this would allow my vans body to be covered with the " A" frame jutting outside of the carport.The construction would be made from a wooden frame fitted on my gable wall with a ply wood roof. Any help would be appreciated as i would like to start the work asap George

The best thing to do in these circumstances is to make an informal enquiry with your local council planning department as the approach will vary from council to council.  Often in such cases it can depend on how close the construction will be to the highway.
