I am changing my tow car & the new one has a tow bar fitted but only has single electrics. My caravan has the 13 pin connection how much can I expect to pay to change the the tow bar connection to 13 pin.
Thanks.

I paid £102 for TopFit Towbars and Towing (www.towbarsandtowing.co.uk) to change my 2X7 pin to a 13 pin, they came to my home and completely rewired the car in about an hour.
There should be someone similar to where you live.

Wont that only work if caravan has twin electrics, the OP has 13 pin on van, so would need it the other way around, 13pin socket to 2 7 pin plugs.------------- Dave + Maria

You can get a small single adaptor to allow 13pin caravan plug to connect to single 7pin 12n plug on car. This will operate the road lights to allow caravan be towed but not fridge or battery charge of course.

What he really needs is the car converted properly to 13pin. Why spend money on a newish car and caravan and not have everything working?------------- Jennifer

If cost isn't a factor then yes have the towbar rewired, if it is an issue then the adaptor will do the job, everything will work for a fifth of the cost.
