We have had the same problem with our Bailey Ranger and I an sorry to say that silkaflex will not fix the problem. The only way to fixe it is to have the panal hot welded or sonic welded and thats a specialist job, our van had been bodge up with silkaflex before we bought it and all the panals at the front of the van had been replaced to cover up the damage when I bought it I went round it with a damp metre and it was ok but on our first outing it rained pritty bad and the water flooded in so we had to get the van repared an it was a very expensive job, most of the companies round my area which is not far from you said it was a new front on the van at a cost of arouned £3ooo but they all said they were too busy to do the job so I took it to a company at Blackburn and they did a great job I can recamend there work first class.I only live down the road from you in Halifax so you can come over and check their work anytime.I woudn't think it would be a DIY job unless you have a very big garage I hope this will help you.Ian

sonic welding is the way to go for the crack, finding someone to do it is hard.

There is a company in Huddersfield that I could recommend, they made a brilliant job of my cracked back panel after some idiot ran into me. The repair is guaranteed for the whole time that I own my van, and I have that in writing. They weren't cheap but they were very good, they also collected it and delivered it afterwards too.

E-mail me if you want the details.

Its not simply a case of the welding if water has been getting in for a while then their could be damage to to the woodwork and also the framework if water has been getting in for a while then all that will have to be replaced as it was with mine new panals, new shelves.and some of the framework thats why they will knot give you a price untill they see what is the damage under the skin of the van.Ian
