I've seen two types of cap; one which fits beneath the screw and has a hinged lid to seal and the other just being a simple cap of the right diameter to the screw head, that simply clicks on.
Long term, both will allow moisture inside and don't prevent screws going rusty. IMO, I'd use a small blob of translucent sealant over each screw.------------- Paul

Screw cups available from lots of places, B&Q, Screwfix and ebay.
Use stainless fasteners! They are cheaper and more available than you think.
All of the fastenings in our trailer are A2 stainless, bolts and screws.
