We have just bought our first tourer so are virgins at this,(please be kind and no laughing).
We have sited it but when I connect the electric there are no lights that come on the control panel for the water heater, I have checked the fuses and all seem ok.
Should the switch on the main panel be on car battery or caravan battery or does it not matter?
We have the same heater in our trailer, and you need gas turned on, 12V to the control box for the heater and the control switch 'down' to start it off.
Make sure it has water in first!
As far as the supply side goes, it should be on 'caravan battery' normally, and check that the battery is actually OK by switching on a light so you can see that 12V is available.
It is fully automatic in operation, it will click a few times then you can usually hear it light up. If you go outside the heat from the burner is pretty obvious.
If the RED LED comes on after a short period, turn it off, wait for 15 minutes then try again.
If the YELLOW LED comes on, it is showing low battery volts. Normally this one doesn't show, you may just catch a flicker when you turn the heater off.
If the heater hasn't been used for a while, it may take a few attempts to start it as the gas will work its way through the piping etc.
I have done exactly as you say when we start up, hook up water and electric, run water through all taps so no air locks, gas on but there are no lights that come on the control box. 12v is working as strip lights are working. Is there a reset button on the unit or an in-line fuse on the heater? that I may have missed?

needs to be on caravan battery if you want to use gas as the heater needs 12v ignition.as i remember you do not get lights on 240 volt mains.see the manual above.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Somebody mentioned another guy who helps as you may struggle to get a response from Gary as I have done and given up.
Gary is usually pretty good with replies, but has to earn a living as well, and may be away on holiday.
I've found him very good to deal with and helpful.

There are 2 fuses and spares inside the box itself, the top unclips and the cover folds down.
Also check the multi-way plug is fully engaged, and check the heater end as well.
