Hello Shella,  what's wrong with your windows?

I've got the whole front panel off my caravan to renew the windows framework caused by the dreaded wet rot,  It's not as bad as that...is it?

i havent got the caravan yet but the thought of taking out the windows if it is needed is my only fret i am confidant i can deal with the damp.

the caravan only cost me £450.00 so i am expecting that it will need a lot of work.

i have seen some other people fixing the window frames and having to take out the windows thats what i am most worried about. i will need all the help i can get.

i cant wait i am itching to get at it .

Is it actually damp? Plenty of old caravans are ok, best bet might be just to get a cartridge of Sikaflex or similar polyurethane sealant, fill all the external gaps & go from there. If the internal structure is that bad it might not be worth repairing, there are plenty of 80s 'vans on ebay for under £500 that are reasonably sound & usable. You don't need to assume every £500 caravan is a wreck.

Mine cost me about £500 including chassis service & new tyres. I've used it for 2 years now & apart from sealing any external gaps I've done hardly anything to it at all.
